The Calling
Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
The Calling is delivered by The Art of Transformation (“we”, “us”, “our”), operated by Laura Boatman, ABN 37 753 890 104, registered address 4/13 Waterview Drive, Lane Cove, NSW 2066, Australia. The Art of Transformation is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
The Calling is co-facilitated by Sarah King of The Willow Project Consultancy Limited (Company Number 11676172, 8 Weald Close, Bromley, England, BR2 8PD), registered in the United Kingdom. Sarah King acts as a co-facilitator engaged by The Art of Transformation and will have access to certain participant information (as set out below) in order to deliver the programme. The Art of Transformation and The Willow Project Consultancy Limited have agreed between themselves how this information is handled; if you have a privacy question relating specifically to Sarah King's handling of your information, you can also contact her directly at sarah@thewillowproject.co.uk.
Because we work with people based in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the European Union, this policy is written to meet the requirements of the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (including the Australian Privacy Principles) and, for participants in the UK and EU, the UK GDPR and EU GDPR.
2. What Personal Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact details — name, email address, and general location/region (e.g. Australia/NZ, UK, Europe, Elsewhere) submitted via our enquiry or application form.
- Content you share with us — anything you write in the “what's the niggle telling you” field or elsewhere in your application, and anything you share with us directly by email or in coaching sessions.
- Birth data for chart work — if you go on to join The Calling, we ask for your date, time, and place of birth to prepare your personal Human Design and Astrology Purpose Map. This is sensitive information and is only used for this purpose.
- Payment information — processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We do not directly store your full card details; Stripe handles this in line with its own privacy policy and PCI-DSS obligations.
- Community and session content — messages you post in the private WhatsApp/Telegram group, and audio/video of you if you appear in a live session that is recorded for replays.
- Technical data — standard website usage data collected automatically when you visit our site (see Section 8, Cookies).
3. How and Why We Use Your Information
We use your personal information to:
- Assess your application and determine your fit for The Calling;
- Deliver the programme, including preparing your personal Purpose Map and facilitating live sessions, buddy pairings, and the community group;
- Process your payment and administer your enrolment;
- Communicate with you about the programme, including reminders, replays, and logistics;
- Send you marketing communications about future offerings from The Art of Transformation and/or The Willow Project Consultancy Limited, where you have consented to this (see Section 4 below — you can opt out at any time, from either of us independently);
- Meet our legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
Where UK/EU GDPR applies, our legal bases for these uses are: performance of a contract with you (assessing your application, delivering the programme), your consent (marketing communications, sensitive birth data used for chart work), and our legitimate interests (improving our services, keeping records).
4. Who We Share Your Information With
We share personal information only where necessary, with:
- Sarah King / The Willow Project Consultancy Limited, as co-facilitator of the programme — she will have access to your name, email address, application, birth data, and any information you share in sessions or the community group relevant to delivering the programme;
- Our payment processor, Stripe, to process your payment;
- Our email/CRM platforms, Hostinger and Kit, to manage enquiries and communications;
- WhatsApp/Telegram, as the platform hosting the private community group — please note messages sent in the group are subject to that platform's own privacy policy and terms, which we do not control;
- Professional advisers (e.g. our accountant or lawyer) where reasonably necessary; and
- Any party we are required to disclose information to by law.
Because Laura Boatman (The Art of Transformation) and Sarah King (The Willow Project Consultancy Limited) co-facilitate The Calling together, we will both have access to your name and email address. Each of us will add your details to our own individual email list/CRM, so that we can each continue to keep you informed about our own future offerings and programmes, in addition to communications relating to The Calling itself. You're welcome to unsubscribe from either of our mailing lists independently, at any time, using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting either of us directly using the details in Section 11 below.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
5. Confidentiality Within the Programme
The Calling is designed as a confidential space. While we take reasonable steps to protect information shared in live sessions and the community group, we cannot guarantee the confidentiality of what other participants choose to share outside the group, as this is outside our control. All participants agree, as part of the Terms & Conditions, not to record or share what is disclosed by others in the group.
6. International Data Transfers
Because The Art of Transformation is based in Australia, information collected from participants in the UK and EU will be transferred to and stored in Australia. Australia is not currently subject to a UK or EU adequacy decision, so this constitutes an international transfer of personal data. By applying for and joining The Calling, UK/EU participants consent to this transfer, which is necessary for the performance of the contract between us (delivering the programme to you). We take reasonable steps to protect your information regardless of where it is processed.
7. Data Retention
If you sign up to hear from us but don't go on to join The Calling, we keep your name and email on our mailing list for as long as you remain subscribed — we'll delete it if you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it sooner. For participants who join the programme, we retain your enrolment and payment records for seven years to meet our tax and accounting obligations, after which it is securely deleted, except where we are required to keep it for longer periods for legal reasons. Your ongoing presence on our mailing list is treated separately, per the paragraph above.
8. Cookies and Website Analytics
We do not currently use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or website analytics of any kind. This site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device.
Two third parties do receive a request when you use the site, simply because your browser fetches something from them:
- Google Fonts — the typefaces used on this site are served by Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads. This is handled under Google's own privacy policy.
- Stripe — only if you click through to pay. From that point, Stripe's privacy policy governs the checkout page.
Our hosting provider, Netlify, keeps standard server logs (including IP addresses) as part of serving the site securely. If we ever add analytics or advertising technology, we will update this section and add a cookie consent banner before doing so.
9. Your Rights
If you are in the UK or EU, under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to certain processing, to withdraw consent at any time, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk).
If you are in Australia or New Zealand, under the Australian Privacy Principles you have the right to access and correct your personal information, and to make a complaint about how we've handled it. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11 below.
10. Children
The Calling is intended for adults only. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Contact Us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise your rights, contact us at laura@theartoftransformationcoaching.com.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “effective date” at the top of this page will always show when it was last revised. We encourage you to review it periodically.
